I love to walk amongst the mangroves along the boardwalk in Brooklyn. Watching the patterns of light and dark, the tree branches and dappled sunlight. I love to watch the movement of the water and listen to the insects buzzing in the air. Sometimes the cicadas are so loud you can’t hear yourself think and I pretend that this is the sum of my entire existence. And I am happy in this simplicity.
